Artist Statement
“Stitching has been an integral part of my life for over forty years. Before discovering stitching, I had dabbled in other art and crafts, quickly discovering I had no ability to draw--hence painting was not an option. I can't sing; crochet offered limited opportunities, as when I made blankets, for myself and everyone I knew. After that body of work was complete, I was at the end of the crocheting line. I loved cross stitch and I never was at a loss in finding new avenues to explore in stitching. I enjoy creating pretty "art" pieces and I hope my embroidery pieces survive into the future and take a small part of me with them. I continue to expand my stitching techniques and have access to supplies and all the help I need. After 40 years, stitching couldn't be better!”
